The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared the written result of the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2026 on 9 October 2026. The examination was held on 13 September 2026. Candidates whose roll numbers are in the list have qualified for the interview by the Services Selection Board (SSB) of the Ministry of Defence.

The selection is for the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the National Defence Academy for the 158th Course, and for the 120th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC). Both courses begin on 1 July 2027.

How to check the result

The result is a list of roll numbers, not individual scorecards. It is available on the Commission's website, upsc.gov.in, and was also released through the Press Information Bureau. Open the result file for "National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II), 2026" and search for your roll number.

UPSC has said the candidature of everyone on the list is provisional.

What qualified candidates must do next

According to the UPSC notice, candidates have to register online on the Indian Army recruiting website, joinindianarmy.nic.in, within two weeks of the announcement of the written result. With the result announced on 9 October 2026, candidates should not leave the registration to the last days of that period.

After registration, the notice says, successful candidates will be allotted selection centres and SSB interview dates, which will be sent to the registered e-mail ID. A candidate who has already registered on the site earlier does not have to register again.

For login problems, the notice gives the e-mail address dir-recruiting6-mod[at]nic[dot]in.

Certificates

Candidates have to submit original certificates of age and educational qualification to the respective Services Selection Board at the time of the SSB interview. UPSC has specifically said that original certificates must not be sent to the Commission.

When marks and cut-offs will be published

Marks and cut-off marks will not be released now. UPSC said they will be uploaded on its website only after the entire process is over, that is, after the final result is declared. They will stay on the website for 30 days.

Background

UPSC conducts the NDA and NA examination twice a year. The written test is followed by the SSB interview, and the final merit list is prepared after both stages. The Commission's notice for this result does not state how many candidates have qualified.
